As a Liturgical Artist with an interest in establishing a vestment resource for our diocese, I operate a little differently than most vestment shops. Rather than a typical “hire me and I will make your vestments”, my work is a form of vocation—one grounded in prayer, discernment, and joyful collaboration. When a parish or priest reaches out, I listen first for clarity of need and call. If it is a project I am meant to take on, I walk with you through the entire process: design, materials, theology of color and symbol, and the practical considerations that shape a set of vestments meant for real ministry.
Sometimes that means I personally craft the pieces. Other times, the Spirit leads us toward a shared model where I provide the design, patterning, guidance, and materials, and an experienced sewist within your parish completes the construction. In either case, my goal is the same: to help you create vestments that are beautiful, durable, and faithful to your worship tradition.
Service Option: Full Collaborative Design & Construction
I work with you from initial concept through finished vestments. This includes:
- Design consultations and sketches
- Liturgical color & fabric discernment
- Patterning, layout, and technical design
- Sourcing and purchasing fabric, trim, interfacing, and notions
- Construction of chasubles, stoles, dalmatics, maniples, frontals, or other requested pieces
This option is reserved for projects where I feel a clear call to do the work with my own hands.
Service Option: Hybrid – You Provide the Sewist, I Provide Everything Else
Many parishes have talented sewists who simply need guidance or materials they can trust. This includes:
- Design consultations and sketches
- Identification of patterns for sewist to purchase and use for construction
- Source and purchase all vestment-specific materials (fabric, galloon/trim, interlinings, interfacing, special threads)
- Offer ongoing support via email, phone, or video consultation as the project progresses
This model honors the gifts already present in the parish and helps build local capacity for vestment care and creation.
Service Option: Design & Pattern Guidance
Ideal for parishes who want to sew the full set themselves or work with a known vestment house. This includes:
- A color/fabric palette
- A recommended fabric list and suppliers
- Pattern guidance
- Optional consultation during construction via email, phone, or video
Service Option: Refurbishment, Re-imagining and Restoration Guidance
If your parish has older vestments with sentimental or historical value, I can:
- Assess fabric type, condition and feasibility
- Recommend whether to conserve, repurpose, remake, or retire
- Consult with your sewist or recommend one
